I am so pleased to announce that Surface Creations has a new website! Surface Creations is a family-owned an operated countertop and other surfaces fabrication company with several locations across New England. As the developer who has had the pleasure of partnering with them for many years (and built their previous site) this launch is particularly special. Building a new website is a big undertaking, but rebuilding it is an opportunity to take everything I’ve learned, incorporate new technologies, and focus relentlessly on the user experience.
This new site is more than just a fresh coat of digital paint; it’s a way to fully update the code and structure of the site in order to make sure that it performs well and looks great. Some features/enhancements in the new site include:
Custom Animated Graphics
An easy way to breath life and vibrancy into a website is to use animations. Subtle animations on load and custom animated graphics were added to help showcase a bit of the company’s personality and add a bit of fun.
Intuitive Design
The average website visitor only stays on a site for under a minute, so it is vital to make navigating websites simple and intuitive. With this in mind, I created a static header with plenty of buttons and links. horizontal accordions were also implemented to optimize the amount of information and CTAs that could fit on any given page.
Image Optimization
In the logged in area of the site, Surface Creations customers can browse galleries of hundreds of different surface materials. Each of these images is high resolution, so it was important to ensure that they were optimized effectively to prevent slow loading.
Expanded Selection of Custom Forms
In addition to the existing custom contact forms, several new forms were added including a form to allow their customers to submit a quote. Each form is built using HTML and Bootstrap and mobile responsive ready.
